Christmas Tree Counting Number Cards

Practicing number recognition and counting will be so much fun for preschoolers with this set of free printable Christmas Tree Counting Cards!

My preschoolers are becoming rockstars with counting.  But what is more impressive is that many are also able to point and count accurately demonstrating 1:1 correspondence.  I think that all of our table top tray activities {busy bags!} in the classroom have helped build these skills as well as build confidence in my preschoolers!

Printable Christmas Tree Counting Cards

This set of super cute printable counting cards includes the numbers 1-10.  Simply print the set of counting cards and get ready to decorate!  Put together a fun assortment of decorations for your little learners.

This activity is super easy to set up!  And the best thing about it is that you can use whatever you have on hand to decorate the Christmas trees!  Print the Christmas tree cards on cardstock, cut them apart, and laminate them so they last forever. (I use this laminator all the time and this is the updated version!)

In my classroom, we do a lot of pointing and counting.  We practice slowing down to count the numbers as we point instead of saying as many numbers as possible as quickly as possible!

Each card contains a Christmas tree and an elf holding an ornament with a number on it.  Because not every preschooler or kindergartener can identify all numbers, I added counting dots on the tree trunks.  Have your child point and count the dots to figure out what the number is!

While getting this activity together, my preschooler decided that we needed more decorations!  We started with beads, added M&M chocolate candies (that all got eaten at the end!), and then I remembered that I had purchased jingle bells for another activity...so those were added in too!

The awesome thing about the jingle bells is that they are also magnetic!  So the jingle bells were the instant favorite.  My preschooler counted out the jingle bells as she added them to the trees.  As soon as she had the tree decorated perfectly, she would swipe them all up with a magnetic wand.  If you don't own a magnetic wand, don't wait, order one now!

Our math counting activity turned into a math and science activity!
